Honey roasted hazelnuts in a flash
I had a small bag of hazelnuts left over from a side dish I made and was wondering what to do with them. I don’t really like hazelnuts so I tossed them with cinnamon and honey and transformed them into a tasty treat that’s reminiscent of peanut brittle. Here’s how to make it at home:
Honey-Roasted Hazelnuts
1 cup of hazelnuts (rub off outer layers – I forgot to do this with mine)
3 tablespoons honey
2 teaspoons cinnamon
Heat oven to 350 degrees. Put a large sheet of parchment paper on a cookie sheet. Put honey and cinnamon in a small bowl. Add hazelnuts. Mix gently with your hands so that honey-cinnamon mixture is incorporated. Put the coated hazelnuts on the parchment paper and cook for 5 minutes. Move hazelnuts around to toast the other side and heat another 2 minutes. Let sit for 30 minutes to cool. Put in a pretty bowl and enjoy! Just don’t eat too many at once.
