Is your smoothie preventing you from slimming down?
There’s healthy and unhealthy fruit smoothies out there. Some of the bad ones contain ice cream, sugar, dairy milk and/or a lot of calories. Even if your fruit smoothie has natural ingredients, healthy fats and is low in calories, it could be the reason you cannot slim down. If you’re adding flax, hemp seeds, and coconut and almond butter to your fruit smoothie, that’s a lot of fat in one drink. Fat makes you full, but it also is the easiest of the macronutrients to be converted back to fat in your body.
You can have your seeds and a teaspoon of nut butter, but just pick one of these healthy fats for your breakfast or drink, and spread the others throughout the day in different meals.
