A quick way to improve grip strength

I know I need to work on my grip strength as my fingers tend to loosen up on the dumbbells around the 10th rep when I’m holding heavy weights during squats. A personal trainer asked me, “Have you tried cutting your nails?” My nails tends to grow like weeds and I do like to keep them long, but they are preventing the tips of my fingers from touching my palms.  After doing a set with a bar or dumbbells, look at your palm. If you have nail marks imbedded in your hand, it’s time for a trim.
