Why the pounds come back after weight loss
After losing a bunch of weight, many people increasingly eat more if the pounds keep falling off since they are still eating less than before they started dieting, but this weight-loss eventually reverses itself. “As you lose weight, your liver, kidney, and other organs shrink so the number of calories that are required to keep those organs goes down” (1).
To keep the weight off permanently, you need to eat ever fewer calories per day than when you started your diet. Don’t stress though, you will, over time, adjust to the lower calorie intake.
