Would you buy this beer?
This is probably one of the dumbest new products: a beer designed for the gym rat that has approximately 22 grams of protein. Even though this Barbell Brew has fewer calories and carbs, it’s unlikely to sway calorie-conscious weight lifters to switch beers just because it has a high protein content.
The body builders I’ve spoken to that compete, rarely drink alcohol, and when they do, it’s post-competition when they are bulking. When they are not leaning out, they’re eating foods and drinking beverages that were off-limits pre-show. If the objective is to get more protein, most people would opt for a juicy steak than an expensive, low-alcohol, light beer.
