Why you gain weight after a workout

triceps-dipsI’ve had several people ask me why the scale shows they’ve gain a pound or two the day after a workout. I’ve noticed that too. Anytime you put stress on your body, it promotes inflammation. When you’re breaking down and building up muscle, like in weight-training, it causes stress and your body retains water.  Give yourself time to heal and crunch on some celery, and that water weight will go bye-bye.
