Is Terry Wahls a fraud? (Did Terry Wahls reverse MS?)

I watched a video of a doctor who told of her miraculous recovery from MS by omitting dairy and processed foods and adopting a paleo diet. She was debilitated, in a wheelchair, and now speaks at events, is on the news, and quite famous.

I thought this was suspicious because Dr. McDougall, Brian Clement, Dr. Fuhrman and Dr. Brooke Goldner explain that animal protein is the main culprit in autoimmune attacks and since MS is an autoimmune disease, how is Terry Wahls, a functional medicine doctor, able to reverse MS if she’s still eating animal protein?

Dr. Brooke Goldner, who reversed her own Lupus and many other autoimmune conditions, and thousands of other people she’s worked with who had diseases, including MS, with her Goodbye Lupus Protocol that is free from all animal protein, said she spoke to a doctor who gives talks on how she reversed MS. That doctor, who was not named, was able to get out of her wheelchair and stand for up to an hour and half to preach the benefits of a paleo diet. After her speeches, she’s so exhausted, she has to sit down. Dr. Goldner asked this doctor if she’s ever tried giving up animal protein to see if she’s able to fully recover, and the woman, said no.

Dr. Goldner never revealed the woman’s name who she had this conversation with, but Dr. Wahls is the only doctor that I’m aware of, that fits the description: she is a doctor, has MS, was in a wheelchair, and gives speeches about her miraculous Paleo diet, reversing MS.

If a person can only stand for 90 minutes, and is still on medication, even if it’s a lower dose, that’s not reversal.

If a doctor admits to the public that he/she’s still in pain, on pain medication, after claiming to reverse an autoimmune disease, that individual would be criticized, shamed, ostracized, and probably sued.

On the My MS team website, it states that Terry Wahls takes a nerve pain medication many MS patients take (1).

A point I want to stress here is that people lie, even doctors lie. We cannot trust what people say, no matter how convincing their story is.

There is lots of money to be made in selling diet programs, telling people what they want to hear.

Eating ribs and steak is more appetizing than a salad, so, of course more people are going to gravitate towards a ketogenic or Paleo diet than a diet based on plants.

It upsets me that people are so greedy that they will say anything to make money, despite how many people suffer.

Regardless of what you want to hear, animal protein triggers autoimmune responses in many people. A paleo or ketogenic that contains animal protein may make someone feel better because they have removed other inflammatory foods like dairy, processed foods, sugar and grains, but it does not make it a “healthy diet;” it just makes it a healthier diet compared to what they were previously eating.
