your crappy diet can make you blind

a reason to re-think eating french friesMaking vegetables, fruit, beans, whole grains, nuts, and seeds a priority is not just a smart way to lose excess weight and provide the body with powerful tools to fight disease, it can save you from blindness. A 17-year old male went blind due to “…his steady diet of potato chips, French fries, and deli meat [since the limited foods he ate] deprived his body of some of the essential vitamins and nutrients for eye health (called “nutritional optic neuropathy.” A form of malnutrition), including vitamin B12, vitamin A, iron, calcium, magnesium and copper” (1).

Eating whole foods is not for the liberal elite, yogis, vegans, tree huggers, or skinny bitches, it’s what the human body is supposed to subsist on. What you eat matters. Eating sugar, bread, and pasta could very-well “…contribute to the development of age-related macular degeneration (AMD), the leading cause of blindness in adults over age 60, according to a study published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition” (1).

Skip the fast food, and head over to the produce aisle.
